I was asked in early summer of 2013 by Chewton Glen Hotel to create two pairs of gates for their newly built walled kitchen garden, which is a functional kitchen garden but also a beautiful place to hold weddings and events. I worked in collaboration with Copper Artist Steve Myburgh to create these unique and beautiful entrance ways.

Having endured a long cold winter in the workshop, the sun has finally started to shine on the Old Sawmill and Richard has been hard at work creating a new sculpture "AVA" which will be entered to exhibit at the Royal academy summer show later this year. Drawing on some of his recent experience working and patinating bronze, this sculpture combines a copper skin wrapped around a forged steel framework to stunning effect.

I’ve recently begun working with forged bronze, and after a few failed experiments to start I am now producing some exciting results. I have also met some interesting people that have given me a wealth of knowledge regarding finish and patina (an art in itself). So watch this space for more bronze making an appearance in my work.

The workshop upped sticks and moved to Milland, West Sussex at the beginning of the year. As you can imagine, it takes a lot of effort and heavy lifting equipment to move a workshop, however, despite little hiccups like a forklift truck going through the floor, the new workshop is now up and running. A massive thank you to everyone who helped out with the move.
