Absinthe Fountain
This functional artwork is my interpretation of an object invented around 100 years ago for absinthe bars across Europe. The mechanism slowly drips ice-cold water through a sugar cube into a glass of absinthe, allowing you to prepare your drink at the table without interrupting your conversation.
“I was drawn to the concept by its obscurity, and it gave me an opportunity to play with the idea of functionality and practicality.”
Forged and fabricated steel, leather, glass, copper.
